See the image of God in all men By Paramahansa Yogananda

Many people excuse their own faults but judge other persons harshly. We should reverse this attitude by excusing others’ shortcomings and by harshly examining our own. Sometimes it is necessary to analyze other people; in that case the important thing to remember is to keep the mind unprejudiced. An unbiased mind is like a clear mirror, held steady, not oscillating with hasty judgments. Any person reflected within that mirror will present an undistorted image. Learn to see God in all persons, of whatever race or creed.  You will know what divine love is when you begin to feel your oneness with every human being, not before. In mutual service we forget the little self, and glimpse the one measureless Self, the Spirit that unifies all men.

Sweet Labor of Love ©

At the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet Plato Despite the fact that we live in imperfect world, isn’t it wonderful to know that we serve a God whose Love for us and Will for our lives is perfect. He knows what is best for us even when we don’t know what’s best for ourselves. He loves us even when we don’t have an ounce love for ourselves. He covers and protects us in the midst of our disobedience and rebelliousness. God loves us unselfishly and unconditionally… flaws and all. How wonderful it is to be loved by Him. The great Philosopher Lao Tzu said that being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. If only we could learn to be more like Him. If only we could learn to love more like Him and find a way to treat one another more kindly. Oh how much better we would treat one another. Oh how much better this world would be. Trust God when you can’t trace God. He’s there. Even when you think He’s not. He hear...

When the Material Becomes Immaterial ©

There is no use trying to carve a piece of rotten wood. Confucius At the end of the day when it's really all said and done, the material is truly immaterial. This is truly the most simplistic of ideologies. Yet it proves so hard for many of us to comprehend. Simply stated, there are a great many things in this world that we think matters that really doesn’t matter as much as we think or would like to believe that it does.  Now granted, money can buy temporary contentment, retail therapy can temporarily soothe those frazzled nerves and those shots of Patron can mellow you out for a while and get that buzz going. All the same, in the grand scheme of things if not handled responsibly all of these things can actually cause you more harm than good. Money can't buy salvation; money can't buy true friendship, money can't buy love, money can't buy true respect and admiration, and last but certainly not least money can't buy discernment or just plain common sense . ...

Celebrating Good Men©

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.   Psalms 37:37 A lot of guys out there think they’re men because they act tough and talk rough. Real men know that wisdom is true strength, that gentleness is a virtue. A lot of guys brag. Real men don’t have to. Their actions speak louder than words ever could. A lot of guys blame anyone and everything for what doesn’t go their way. Real men accept life’s challenges and use them to grow. How do I know all of this? Because I was raised by a good man and I have been blessed enough to have been surrounded by good men my entire life. I have seen how good men, real men lead a good life. So many men claim to be real men, I am proud to say that I am one. Will all of the Real men, all of the Good Men… Please stand up! The world needs you.

The Answer

You ask, “Do I Qualify”? Can I fulfill your needs and become the man you need me to be My sister, are you prepared for what you have asked for Can you handle the responsibility? Can you accept that, by God, I am the chosen one, the authority, the comforter, and the head? Will you submit, and willingly follow my path Or will you fight with me instead? If I am your King, will you treat me as such? With the best of your beauty and poise Or will I be subjected to an appearance neglected… And checked with some serious noise? When I talk, will you listen? I mean wholeheartedly and feel me… Or will rush me just to make your point too? Can I be the man at all times, even when it hurts… ..And not just when it is convenient for you? Can you love me for me…. And not who you “wish” I could be? Will you see the strong “Black Man” within? Or will you always remind me of all your past brothers behind me and make me pay for their sins? Will you be pati...

My Other Love Letter ©

A relationship is placing one’s heart and soul in the hands of another while taking charge of another in one’s soul and heart  Kahlil Gibran "I love you. I love you for all you are to me. I love you because of who you are, and what you represent. I know that people use the word love so loosely these days. Sometimes with little to no meaning behind it …… just Lip Service. However, I assure you that when I say I love you, I mean it. I never thought that I would ever find this kind of love. I didn’t think that this kind of love even existed. The very thought of you makes me smile. The sound of your voice makes my heart skip a beat. When I see you it’s like the first time every time. I love the way you treat me…. like royalty. I know that there have been those that have come along and told you that they love you but treated you so horribly. I believe that it is because they didn’t have a clue as to what exactly they had in you. They did not know your value. They were so...

The Essence of Love ©

"Charity* suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; *charity envieth not charity; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemingly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh to no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things  1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 *asterisk denotes the linear notes in the King James Version of the Holy Bible. Charity can replaced by the word Love. Love as defined by Merriam- Webster's Dictionary is a strong affection arising out of kinship or personal ties. It is also defined as attraction based on sexual desire; affection and tenderness felt by lovers. While yet another definition of the word Love is affection based on admiration, benevolence or common interest. Essence as defined by Merriam-Webster's Dictionary is defined as the permanent as contrasted with the accidental element of ...

When a Man Loves a Woman ©

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. - 1 Corinthians 13:4 While doing my due diligence in my preparation to write this, I discovered that there are many definitions of the word love (Dictionary.com has 27 different definitions for the word). This in and of itself is testament to the fact that Love is interpreted in many ways; it is mainly based on an individual’s perspective and the context in which the word is used. For example the love you may have for your parents and siblings may differ from the love you may have for close friends and associates (I include associates for the simple fact that people that know whose they are have a mandate to love one another). However, for the purposes for this entry, I wish to concentrate on the male – female dynamic and how in my opinion it pertains to the word love. Now I want to preface this next entry with a disclaimer: I am in no way a relationship expert nor do I hold any deg...
